Buffalo Ridge at Blue Mounds State Park



The sun rises over Buffalo Ridge at Blue Mounds State Park. The linear escarpment of Precambrian Sioux Quartzite bedrock, rising 100 feet above the surrounding prairie landscape, is thought to be a buffalo jump before European settlement, but no archaeological evidence has yet been found as verification.
